Dangerous Sky (2017-01-11 20:27:19)

Hi-Res nikon corporation: nikon d3. 35mm, f/9.0, 10/4000s, 200iso.

Location: This photo was taken on the east coast of Corsica in November 2015 during an aimless walk on the beach. That place is some kind of lake just beside the beach and the Mediterranean Sea. East: the sea. West: the mountains. At that time of the year, the place is totally deserted and so quiet. Time It was the end of the day, quite cold and damp. Not sunset time yet, but not far. The sun was still over the mountains and already hidden by clouds. That made that very special light.

Lighting: The light was just beautiful: not saturated but incredibly dense and soft at the same time: everything looked kinda brownish and dark, sort of like a blue night, but with brownish tint.

Equipment: Just a Nikon D3 and a Nikkor 35-70 f/2.8 with a B+W CPL.

Inspiration: Being lucky: at the right place, at the right time. Those clouds are uncommon in corsica. It was too beautiful to not shoot.

Editing: Nothing fancy here. Levels, white balance, contrast, and a selective mask on the sky. I just wanted to emphasize the mood of the moment.

In my camera bag: Any of my DSLR that has a charged battery, and the first lens that I can reach. I don't have a bag. Bags mean heavy stuff, too much stuff, and spending too much time worrying about that stuff; I don't really care about equipment: I just shoot what I see with what I have at that moment. When I go specifically to shoot something special, I just carry the minimum things I think will be needed.
